Okay Bokeh is Japanese name which simply mean blur in photography is very experimental technique. It is been a rounds decade. It is produce very interested effect. When you cover lens with the cut out shape like this (start, triangle… etc.)
To begin with let’s take what Bokeh effect actually looks like.
Amusingly the entire short to been captured in camera. It’s no production at all cut out shape over the lens mask the aperture which only affect the out of focus highlights in the photos.
This because in element settling focus actually passes throw very king hole center of the lens.
Will the out of focus elements pass throw more out of reneged of the lens as well as it this aperture or the Bokeh hood can effects the shape.
I think will should running throw little check list just a help you setup.
Choosing right lens it’s really important. Wide angle lenses don’t seem to work so well, so start with 50mm lens or even longer.
Remember this is really experimental technique, so if you might need to try few different lenses until you find one the work pretty well.
Because the Bokeh hood really cut stand light entering the camera. You find the increasing your ISO 800 or more it really help.
I suggest setting your camera to AV (Aperture Value) or may be M (Manual) and shooting on your largest aperture value which is it smaller f-stops numbers don’t forget.
You’re probably set your camera to manual focus and make sure lens stabilizer ON. This is just settling the cameras auto focus doesn’t get confuse having the Bokeh hood riding front of it.Once you had done all of this you ready to put your Bokeh hood on. Begging by the carefully tiring back the paper (Bokeh) just enough to lose it so that do needle fit of the diameter of the lens. Then just rap the tabs round the lens and secured with a rubber band.
Then two main things are sure.1. The hood really flash against front of the lens.
2. This cut out shape right in the center of the lens.
Cut out the shape none reflect paper or card.
My best tip is shooting a night; try to composing traffic light, city light or else Christmas light out of focus in the background.
You can actually see the effect when you looing from camera eye piece before even you tack the shoot. Which make it bit easier!
Once you have that working then you can start experimenting with adding an in focus foreground element.
Don’t use smaller cut out shape or wide lens.
